Terms of Service
Please read these terms carefully before using Pockiti.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using Pockiti (“the App”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the App.
If you are a parent or legal guardian creating an account for a child, you agree to these terms on behalf of yourself and your child. You represent that you have the legal authority to do so.
2. Educational Purpose & Virtual Money Disclaimer
Pockiti is an educational application designed to teach children aged 6-16 about financial literacy. All transactions, balances, investments, and donations within the App are simulations using virtual money only.
- • No real money is involved in any transaction within the App
- • Stock prices shown are real market data used for educational purposes only
- • Virtual trading does not constitute investment advice or financial guidance
- • The App should not be used as a basis for real financial decisions
- • Past simulated performance does not predict real-world outcomes
3. Account Types
Parent Accounts
- • Must be created by adults 18 years or older
- • Responsible for managing child accounts
- • Control privacy settings and permissions
- • Can set approved stock lists and organisations
- • Secured with biometric or passcode authentication
Child Accounts
- • Must be created by a parent or guardian
- • Designed for children aged 6-16
- • Protected by individual 4-digit passcode
- • Subject to parental oversight and controls
- • Minimal personal information collected
4. Parental Consent & Responsibilities
As a parent or legal guardian using Pockiti, you agree to:
- ✓ Provide consent before your child uses the App
- ✓ Supervise your child's use of the App as appropriate for their age
- ✓ Review your child's educational activities regularly
- ✓ Keep your account credentials secure and not share them
- ✓ Notify us promptly if you become aware of any unauthorised use
- ✓ Accept responsibility for all activity under your family account
5. Acceptable Use Policy
You agree not to:
- ✕ Use the App for any purpose other than personal educational use
- ✕ Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
- ✕ Circumvent security features or authentication mechanisms
- ✕ Create accounts with false or misleading information
- ✕ Use the App to make real financial decisions
- ✕ Share, sell, or transfer your account to another person
6. Intellectual Property
All content, features, and functionality of Pockiti — including design, text, graphics, logos, icons, images, audio, video, and software — are owned by Pockiti and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the App for personal, non-commercial, educational purposes in accordance with these Terms.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Pockiti and its affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App.
The App is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that the App will be uninterrupted or error-free.
Pockiti is not a financial adviser, broker, or institution. Nothing in the App constitutes financial advice. Virtual trading results do not predict real-world investment outcomes.
8. Termination
You may stop using Pockiti at any time by deleting your account through the parent dashboard or uninstalling the App. All local data will be deleted upon uninstallation.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with reasonable notice when practicable. Upon termination, data will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
9. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify registered parents of material changes before they take effect.
Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree with updated Terms, you should discontinue use of the App.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation first, and if necessary, through the courts of New Zealand.
